He couldn’t have picked a better day to go into town. The sun was bright and it was pleasantly warm. The streets were a little busy but that never really bothered him when he was traveling on his own. The good weather tended to put the shop clerks in a good mood and Adro was sure he could pick a good present for Core today. He still had over a month, but he liked to stay on top of these things.

For now, he sticks to main street, walking leisurely along the shops, peering in the windows for something to catch his eye.

Jack was selfish in an unconventional sense. He didn’t bother with the monetary value of material possessions, and the money itself he didn’t care about as long as he and Jolt could get by. There was a fair amount of guilt involved in sneaking out of the house. Jolt would panic, and he wasn’t sure he trusted himself to be alone just yet… But he’d rather scare (or harm, if it came to it) a stranger than his brother. Maybe if Jolt were built to be more durable it’d be different. As it was, he wanted to get out of the apartment as quickly as possible before any real damage was done. 

But things had been going well on his walk so far. He’d been making slow progress towards Refueled while taking the least populated streets available. It’d be empty there. But he’d have to take the main streets some time if he wanted to get to his restaurant, and his anxiety had faded almost entirely since he’d left the house. Still, even the main streets were more vacant than the day before, and that was good.

A familiar face appeared in the crowd next to him. “Adro?” He slipped out before he could really think. He honestly wasn’t sure at first, it was strange to see him outside the manor. Was Core with him? If the powers that be had any sense of mercy the silver bot would be far off at home.
